10 Questions to Ask During an Interview

The interview process is difficult to say the least. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most important conversations a leader partakes in. So much rides on the interviewer’s ability to extract as much information about a candidate as he or she can in a short amount of time. The odds are stacked against the interviewer so they must master the art of asking questions. Here is a short list of questions that may help you learn more about a potential teammate.
1. What motivates you to do the best you can? Why?
2. What type of work environment do you excel in? Why?
3. What are the characteristics of the best boss you have ever had?
4. If you were put in charge of a team, how would you lead them?
5. How would your co-workers say you communicate with them?
6. How do you generally deal with conflict?
7. What system do you use to organize your work/life?
8. When given a project what do you usually do first? Why?
9. Walk me through a project you were responsible for from start to finish?
a. Did you view the project as a success?
b. Did your boss view the project a success?
10. If you were told you had to enter a building, but sitting in front of the building was a wild grizzly bear, what would you do?
